Hi! My name is Virginia Sharma. I was born in Colorado but raised all over Texas. My husband, two youngest children and I just recently moved to Temecula after living overseas for two years. I have been blessed with three wonderful children. My sons are four and seven years old. My daughter is twenty-one and attends the University of Florida.
I started working with children when I was in high school. After graduating from high school I joined the U.S. Army and proudly served in active duty and reserve status for nine and a half years. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Middle School Education from Texas A&M University in College Station. I volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club and in the America Reads and Counts program during college. I became a certified 4th-8th grade Math and Science teacher in Texas and taught 8th grade Science and 7th grade Math.
I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work with kids. Being able to share in and see the world through a child’s eyes is a special treat I get to experience every day. Their joy and happiness for simpler things and eagerness to learn are inspiring. I have been a member of the YMCA in various phases of my life and whole-heartedly believe in their mission. I feel honored to be working as part of the YMCA organization and even more so in the Kid Zone, where my first YMCA experience began.
