Mark is the Executive Director of the Murrieta Family YMCA. Mark has over 30 years of experience in the education, fitness, and health and wellness industries. Mark’s experience and industry resources have helped to create and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with industry experts and organizations, own the metrics and key performance indicators of success around personal training revenue, profitability, education, customer satisfaction, and employee retention.
Mark’s passion for making a difference in people’s lives through fitness has been life-long, starting his career as a High School teacher and college coach in Upstate New York.
He was a fitness mentor managing NBC’s Biggest Loser, Home Visits for voted-off contestants. These visits delivered overall fitness assessments, kitchen assessments, guided grocery store tours, indoor and outdoor workouts, bodybugg® program reviews, and lifestyle coaching. Serving as the Director of Fitness Education for 24 Hour Fitness and Apex Fitness, Mark led the fitness education team for 24 Hour and Apex Fitness, certifying thousands of trainers each year.
Mark has served as a Health, Wellness and Fitness Consultant to some of the industry’s most successful fitness companies, including Bally Total Fitness®, Lifetime Fitness, Crunch, and dotFit. His client list also includes prominent higher education institutions, research and development organizations, and fitness and sports training associations such as NASM and NESTA. Mark also served as the Health and Wellness Director for the Laguna Niguel Family YMCA of Orange County.
